Electrical Tar Precipitator

The electric tar precipitator is an advanced environmental protection equipment that utilizes high-voltage direct current electric field technology to efficiently separate tar droplets from gases, thereby improving the cleanliness of gas emissions during the coking process. Its unique design effectively reduces environmental pollution and ensures more environmentally friendly operation of the coke oven.

Introduction

The electrical tar precipitator is a device that uses the effect of a high-voltage direct current electric field to separate tar droplets from gas or coke oven gas in the initial cooling equipment. The structure of the electrical tar precipitator can be divided into three types: concentric circle type, tube type, and honeycomb type.

Working principle

A 40-60 kV electric field is established between the settling electrode and the corona electrode. Corona discharge occurs in the space between the two electrodes. When gas containing dust or tar droplets passes through this space, the dust and tar droplets are polarized and charged, moving towards the settling electrode and adhering to the wall of the settling electrode tube when they collide with it. Due to their weight, the tar droplets sink to the bottom of the electrical tar precipitator, where they are captured. The captured tar is similar in viscosity to heavy oil, so a heating coil is installed at the bottom of the electrical tar precipitator to ensure smooth discharge.
