Comparison of online bag filter and offline bag filter

As a common air purification equipment, bag filter is widely used in industrial production. In-line baghouses and off-line baghouses are two common types of baghouses. This article will provide a comparative analysis of these two types of dust collectors, and discuss their advantages, disadvantages and application scenarios in industrial environments.

1. How it works

The in-line bag filter is a kind of continuous work dust removal equipment, which works by capturing and separating particles in the air through the bag filter material. In the industrial production process, pollutants enter the in-line bag filter through the pipe, and after the filtration action of the filter bag, the particles are captured on the bag, and the purified air is discharged from the outlet. The off-line bag filter is an intermittent dust removal equipment, which sends pollutants into the dust chamber in batches for filtration by opening and closing valves in the industrial production process. Off-line baghouses can separate particulate matter more thoroughly during the filtration process, but require periodic cleaning operations.

2. Cleaning method

The cleaning methods of the online bag filter are mainly divided into two types: mechanical vibration cleaning and pulse jet cleaning. Mechanical vibrating and cleaning is to vibrate the cloth bag through a mechanical device to shake the particles on the bag down. Pulse jet cleaning is to blow off the particles on the cloth bag through high-pressure gas injection. In contrast, the cleaning method of the offline bag filter is mainly through pulse jet cleaning. Since the cleaning of the off-line bag filter is carried out intermittently, the particles on the bags can be removed more fully and the occurrence of clogging can be reduced.

3. Running costs

In-line and off-line baghouses differ in terms of operating costs. Because the online bag filter works continuously, it needs to consume more electricity and gas source. The off-line bag filter can save energy and reduce operating costs when working intermittently. In addition, due to the frequent cleaning operations of the in-line bag filter, the cost of manual maintenance will be increased. However, the off-line bag filter has relatively few cleaning operations, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. Applicable Scenarios

There are also differences between online bag filters and offline bag filters in applicable scenarios. The in-line bag filter is suitable for industrial production processes that require continuous dust removal, such as sintering machines, furnaces, etc. The off-line bag filter is suitable for industrial production processes with higher requirements for particulate matter, such as cement production, metallurgical industry, etc. Off-line baghouses are suitable for places with high air quality requirements because they can remove particulate matter more thoroughly.

Both online bag filters and offline bag filters are common types of bag filters, and there are certain differences in their working principles, cleaning methods, operating costs, and applicable scenarios. The in-line baghouse is suitable for industrial production processes that require continuous dust removal, while the off-line baghouse is suitable for industrial production processes that require higher particulate matter. When choosing the right dust collector, it should be comprehensively considered according to the actual production needs and air quality requirements to achieve the best dust removal effect and economic benefits.
